century?<\/strong><\/h3><p data-start=\"276\" data-end=\"746\">Wojciech Cie\u015bniewski, one of the most prominent contemporary Polish painters, in his new series of works confronts the viewer with fundamental questions about the human condition and shifting moral values. His exhibition, <strong data-start=\"573\" data-end=\"614\">\u201cFaces of the Soul: Virtues and Sins\u201d<\/strong>, organized by <strong data-start=\"629\" data-end=\"651\">407 Art Foundation<\/strong>, attempts to redefine concepts that for centuries have outlined humanity\u2019s ethical boundaries.<\/p><h3 data-start=\"748\" data-end=\"793\"><strong data-start=\"752\" data-end=\"791\">Gra\u017cyna Bastek: It is an Artist on the Soul and Emotions<\/strong><\/h3><p data-start=\"794\" data-end=\"1234\">Wojciech Cie\u015bniewski, a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and a student of <a href=\"https:\/\/pl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rajmund_Ziemski\">Rajmund Ziemski<\/a>, merges a masterful painting technique with philosophical reflection in his works. His art goes beyond traditional representations of virtues and vices\u2014rather than straightforward allegories, it presents multidimensional narratives. His painting evokes emotions, provokes reflection, and remains in the viewer\u2019s memory for a long time.<\/p><h3 data-start=\"1236\" data-end=\"1302\"><strong data-start=\"1240\" data-end=\"1300\">A Curatorial Perspective on the Transformation of Values<\/strong><\/h3><p data-start=\"1303\" data-end=\"1865\">The exhibition\u2019s curators, <strong data-start=\"1330\" data-end=\"1352\">Dr. Gra\u017cyna Bastek<\/strong>, a distinguished art historian and curator at the National Museum in Warsaw, and <strong data-start=\"1434\" data-end=\"1450\">Aron Pude\u0142ko<\/strong>, emphasize that Cie\u015bniewski\u2019s series offers no easy answers. As Dr. Gra\u017cyna Bastek notes:<br data-start=\"1540\" data-end=\"1543\" \/><strong data-start=\"1546\" data-end=\"1865\">\u201cCie\u015bniewski does not moralize but places the viewer before a mirror. His works lie on the boundary between what is known and what is subconsciously felt. Is wrath a destructive force or a form of liberation? Is courage heroism, or is it tenderness and the willingness to be yourself despite societal expectations?\u201d<\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"1867\" data-end=\"2030\">The exhibition comprises <a href=\"https:\/\/407artfoundation.org\/pl\/faces-of-the-soul-virtues-and-sins\/\"><strong data-start=\"1892\" data-end=\"1908\">12 paintings<\/strong><\/a>\u2014five dedicated to the four cardinal virtues and seven interpreting the seven deadly sins. Among the featured works are:<\/p><ul data-start=\"2031\" data-end=\"2487\"><li data-start=\"2031\" data-end=\"2163\"><strong data-start=\"2033\" data-end=\"2044\">\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/407artfoundation.org\/pl\/produkt\/gniew-wrath-wojciech-ciesniewski\/\">Wrath<\/a>\u201d<\/strong> \u2013 a portrait of Girolamo Savonarola, whose anger and radicalism consumed him in the darkness of his own convictions.<\/li><li data-start=\"2164\" data-end=\"2354\"><strong data-start=\"2166\" data-end=\"2180\">\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/407artfoundation.org\/pl\/produkt\/lenistwo-sloth-wojciech-ciesniewski\/\">Laziness<\/a>\u201d<\/strong> \u2013 a self-portrait of the artist juxtaposed with Van Gogh\u2019s likeness, posing the question: is laziness an escape, or a brief suspension in a world filled with expectations?<\/li><li data-start=\"2355\" data-end=\"2487\"><strong data-start=\"2357\" data-end=\"2370\">\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/407artfoundation.org\/pl\/produkt\/mestwo-fortitude-wojciech-ciesniewski\/\">Courage<\/a>\u201d<\/strong> \u2013 a reinterpretation of strength and bravery, presented as tenderness and readiness to accept one\u2019s own sensitivity.<\/li><\/ul><h3 data-start=\"2489\" data-end=\"2558\"><strong data-start=\"2493\" data-end=\"2556\">Vernissage at Z\u0142ota 44 and an International Exhibition Tour<\/strong><\/h3><p data-start=\"2559\" data-end=\"3016\">The official premiere of the exhibition will take place on <strong data-start=\"2618\" data-end=\"2635\">March 1, 2025<\/strong>, during the <strong data-start=\"2648\" data-end=\"2681\">Exclusive VIP &amp; PRESS PREVIEW<\/strong> at Z\u0142ota 44 in Warsaw, where invited guests from Poland and abroad will have the opportunity to view Cie\u015bniewski\u2019s works first.
