Warsaw, May 17, 2024 – We are pleased to announce that the “Golden Women” exhibition by Katarzyna Chmiel was a tremendous success, both artistically and organizationally. Thanks to the full financial support from the 407 Art Foundation, the artist could focus solely on creating without worrying about the costs.

Conceptual work on the exhibition began in June 2023, and the painting of the artworks started in September 2023. By early February 2024, the collection of 10 paintings was complete. The Foundation covered all project costs, including:

  • purchase of canvases,
  • costs of graphic designs for the catalog,
  • printing of promotional materials: catalog, invitations, posters, wall labels,
  • production and editing of two video reports,
  • production of the virtual exhibition film,
  • production of the video presentation of the catalog,
  • purchase of easels,
  • transport of paintings,
  • purchase of the frame for painting #9,
  • catering and 30 bottles of champagne for the vernissage,
  • purchase of materials for the exhibition arrangement,
  • event and project management.

The total project cost amounted to 28,057 PLN. This support was crucial for the young artist to carry out her project without financial pressure. We also want to thank the Board of the ZÅ‚ota 44 Housing Community and the building’s Administrator for their kindness and support.

The vernissage attracted dozens of people, including the portrayed women, building residents, media representatives, art market participants, private collectors, and artists. The exhibition was available for viewing until March 31, 2024, by appointment with the curator. There were 21 curatorial tours, allowing visitors to uncover the deeper meaning of the “Golden Women” project and appreciate its social value.

We are pleased to inform you that out of the 10 paintings, 7 have already been sold, generating a current sales value of 75,000 PLN, for which the Foundation did not charge any commission. Some of the paintings were purchased by the women who inspired them, and over 30% of the sales came from collectors outside of the Złota 44 building. The Signature painting, Portrait #10, a tribute by the Artist to all contemporary successful women, is still available for purchase and will be auctioned as originally intended.

The “Golden Women” exhibition demonstrated the significant need to support young artists through organizations like the 407 Art Foundation. By executing this project, the Foundation not only promotes responsible art patronage but also brings art closer to the public, fulfilling its mission of building a bridge between artists and their audience. Additionally, the Foundation has prepared a virtual tour of the gallery, showcasing the entire collection of 10 portraits from the “Golden Women” exhibition by Katarzyna Chmiel, allowing everyone to revisit those emotions and memories at any time.

We thank everyone for their support and invite you to follow our future projects!
