Klaudia Krzosek’s Paintings as Set Design

The film includes four paintings by Klaudia Krzosek. They are integrated into key sequences of the film’s visual storytelling. Filming took place in a restored classical manor house. Klaudia Krzosek’s abstract paintings contrast beautifully with the historical interiors.

The result? A visual dialogue between tradition and contemporary abstraction. Color and light interact with wood, stone, and natural daylight. Klaudia Krzosek’s paintings became the emotional centerpiece of the set.

A New Dimension of Op-Art on Screen

This is the first time audiences will see her paintings subtly glow on film. Thanks to her unique technique, the paintings emit a delicate internal light. This light highlights the layers, structure, and vibrancy of her works. The effect made a strong impression on the entire film crew.

The paintings were not just part of the set – they became part of the narrative. Their energy reacted to camera movement and changes in light. This is a bold reinterpretation of classic op-art for the screen.

Klaudia Krzosek draws inspiration from Polish op-art pioneers. She references Julian Stańczak, Wojciech Fangor, Ryszard Winiarski. Yet her voice is distinctly contemporary – deeply emotional and spiritual.

Three of Four Paintings Already in Private Collections

Four paintings were loaned for the production by the artist and collectors. Three of them are now part of private collections. We sincerely thank the collectors for lending their works to the film. Their generosity made this creative collaboration possible.

The fourth painting, titled Plejady 1/7, is available for pre-sale.

Mirella – A Story Framed by Art

It is a story about an experienced woman who shares her wisdom with the younger generation, while facing the challenges of the modern world. The film blends grotesque elements with a powerful message for youth – bold, honest, and deeper than what they might hear from their own parents. Klaudia Krzosek’s paintings were chosen to reflect the protagonist’s inner world. Their light and rhythm support the emotional atmosphere of the film.

This is a rare example of contemporary art fully integrated into cinematic storytelling. The film gains emotional depth thanks to the visual power of her paintings. Read more about the project: Collaboration with WFS
