Art at Złota 44 – Exhibition: Golden Women. March 2024

‘Golden Women’ – Art at Zlota 44, a mesmerizing exhibition organized by 407 Art Foundation on the occasion of International Women’s Day, harmoniously blends the architectural mastery of Daniel Libeskind’s Złota 44 with the inspiring narratives of 10 chosen remarkable women who inhabit this iconic structure. Katarzyna Chmiel, the artist behind the canvas, and the 407 Art Foundation, bring to the front the very ethos of these accomplished women. They are more than just residents of this landmark building; they stand as beacons of societal virtues such as success, dignity, and determination.

Katarzyna Chmiel’s artistic vision transcends conventional portraiture, capturing the essence and spirit of each woman. Her canvases delve into the intrinsic qualities that render these women ‘golden,’ portraying their strength, resilience, and grace in a manner that goes beyond the physical into the realm of character and spirit.

The artist, Katarzyna Chmiel, employs a unique approach in capturing the essence of these women, without seeing the said women before, eschewing traditional portraiture for a deeper exploration of their character based on few words heard from the witnesses. Her technique reveals the inner strength, grace, and resilience that make these women truly ‘golden’, creating an intimate and personal portrayal that resonates with the viewer.

Additionally, it should be noted that these canvases are limited to just 10 pieces, each adorned with a dedicated signature from the artist, specially designed for this exhibition. Importantly, residents of the building will have the opportunity to view these artworks for the first time on the day of the exhibition, with the exclusive right to purchase them. This exclusivity adds a unique value to the pieces, bridging art with the private world of its potential buyers and creating a singular opportunity to form a personal connection with each of these exceptional works.
