Filip Syczyński Brings Polish Art to One of Europe’s Leading Exhibitions
The participation of a Polish artist in an international art exhibition is not only a personal achievement, but also an important contribution to the promotion of Polish contemporary art abroad. This is why 407 Art Foundation financially supported the transportation of artworks by Filip Syczyński to NordArt 2026 – one of the most prestigious contemporary art exhibitions in Europe. Thanks to this support, the works of the young Polish artist will be presented to an international audience of curators, collectors, art institutions, and visitors from around the world.
NordArt 2026 – an international platform for contemporary art
NordArt 2026 is a renowned international contemporary art exhibition held in Büdelsdorf, Germany, within the historic Carlshütte complex – a former iron foundry transformed into a remarkable exhibition venue. This year’s edition takes place from June to October 2026 and once again gathers artists from dozens of countries worldwide.
For years, NordArt has been recognized as one of the most important art events in Northern Europe. The exhibition is known for encouraging dialogue between cultures, supporting artistic experimentation, and presenting both internationally acclaimed artists and emerging voices of the younger generation. Previous editions featured artists representing a wide range of contemporary art movements, from monumental installations and figurative painting to projects incorporating new technologies and artificial intelligence.
The core idea behind NordArt has always been rooted in the belief that art can transcend language, politics, and geographical borders. The exhibition creates a space where diverse cultural, social, and artistic perspectives can meet and interact. This is precisely why the presence of Polish artists at NordArt is so important for strengthening the international visibility of Polish contemporary art.
407 Art Foundation supports the promotion of Polish art abroad
Supporting Filip Syczyński’s participation in NordArt 2026 is part of the Foundation’s ongoing program dedicated to the promotion of Polish art in international markets. The initiative focuses on helping Polish artists participate in prestigious international exhibitions, art fairs, and cultural events.
In reality, one of the biggest challenges for emerging artists is often not a lack of talent or invitations, but the high logistical costs associated with transporting artworks and organizing international participation. For this reason, 407 Art Foundation actively engages in projects that allow Polish artists to present their work beyond national borders.
In the case of NordArt 2026, the Foundation financed the transportation of Filip Syczyński’s artworks to Germany, enabling the artist to present his work within an international artistic context. This initiative directly reflects the Foundation’s mission to build greater recognition for Polish contemporary art worldwide while supporting artists at significant stages of their professional development.
Who is Filip Syczyński?
Filip Syczyński, also known by the artistic name FELIPEE, is a visual artist and filmmaker whose work focuses on emotions, identity, and the tensions between nature and technology.
As a director and screenwriter, he has presented his films at international festivals such as Sundance and Cannes, collaborating with creators including David Lynch and Adrian McDowall. Most recently, he created the Ukrainian-American war thriller “Unspoken” starring Paul Wesley, which gained recognition within the international film industry.
Alongside filmmaking, Filip Syczyński has been developing his own painting practice and a highly distinctive visual language. His exhibition “Happy Raveday” explored the intersection of classical oil painting, artificial intelligence, and the aesthetics of the digital world.
Filip Syczyński’s artistic practice – between baroque aesthetics and digital culture
What makes Filip Syczyński’s work stand out is the way he combines classical painterly aesthetics with the visual language of contemporary culture. His paintings confront everyday rituals and ordinary situations with the theatricality, symbolism, and visual richness associated with Baroque art.
Through his works, the artist portrays a generation immersed in digital overstimulation, algorithm-driven realities, and constant streams of information. Birth, shared meals, play, and death are transformed into contemporary ceremonies – simultaneously intimate and spectacular.
In paintings such as “PICNIC”, “DZIECI”, “THE KISS”, and “W OGRODZIE OLIWNYM”, viewers can observe a recurring tension between spirituality and superficiality, simplicity and excess, sacredness and everyday life.
Filip Syczyński’s work brings a fresh perspective to contemporary Polish painting because it speaks directly to the experiences of younger audiences. Rather than rejecting technology or internet culture, the artist embraces them as tools for discussing emotions, loneliness, spirituality, and the search for authenticity in a world dominated by digital simulation.
This sense of authenticity is what allows his paintings to resonate with younger viewers while simultaneously attracting the attention of the international contemporary art scene.
NordArt 2026 and Filip Syczyński – an important step for Polish contemporary art
Filip Syczyński’s participation in NordArt 2026 demonstrates how confidently young Polish artists are entering the international contemporary art landscape. For 407 Art Foundation, supporting such initiatives is not only part of its statutory mission, but also an investment in the future of Polish culture.
Today, promoting Polish art internationally requires not only artistic talent and quality, but also genuine organizational and financial support. Participation in events such as NordArt gives artists the opportunity to build international relationships, reach new audiences, and present Polish contemporary art within a global cultural dialogue.
407 Art Foundation continues to develop initiatives that strengthen the international presence of Polish artists at some of the world’s most important art events. Supporting Filip Syczyński’s participation in NordArt 2026 is another meaningful step in fulfilling that mission.
